Kraemer, Professor Dr. A.—“Malanggane von Tombara.”
A quarto treatise of 91 pages text and 100 full-page plates, besides numerous illustrations in text. The book deals with Tombara, a name applied by Dr. Kraemer to New Ireland in the Bismarck Archipelago. He describes the country, the inhabitants, their customs, beliefs, etc., etc., and devotes especial attention to their masks of various kinds, including images, religious and otherwise, the greater part of the excellent plates being devoted to masks, images, and carvings.
