ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
In the last two issues of the Journal, and in this issue also, we have published papers presented at the TENTH PACIFIC SCIENCE CONGRESS of the Pacific Science Association, held at the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A., from 21st August to 6th September, 1961, and sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences, the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and the University of Hawaii. Further papers from the Tenth Pacific Science Congress will appear in future issues of the Journal.
The Council of the Polynesian Society gratefully acknowledges receipt of a generous grant from the Tenth Pacific Science Congress, which has enabled the Society to increase the size of the Journal in order to accommodate Science Congress papers without displacing other contributions.
